DISH boasts MSNBC HD nationwide

Dish Network got MSNBC HD today and says it is the first and only pay-TV provider to offer the channel in high-definition nationwide. You can be sure other paid providers will pick up the long anticipated channel soon but in the meantime Dish subscribers can have their moment in the sun.

The channel is located on Dish Network Channel 209, and features programs such as “Countdown with Keith Olbermann,” “The Rachel Maddow Show,” “Hardball with Chris Matthews,” and “Morning Joe.”

Dish subscribers with the Classic Silver 200 (HD package) and higher tier packages will have access to the channel.

Dave Shull, senior VP of Programming commented, “As the leader in high definition programming with more than 140 national HD channels, we are pleased to be the only pay-TV provider to offer MSNBC HD nationwide.”

NOTE: MSNBC HD was first launched on June 29, 2009 and carried by Cablevision and Time Warner in select New York areas.
