Comcast has announced the addition of three new HD channels to its lineup in Peoria, IL. The channels include Fox News Channel HD, FX HD and Speed Channel HD. The company also announced new HD choices from its on-demand library, with pay titles offered between $4.99 and $5.99.
The Comcast VOD library consists of over 10,000 titles, with 1,100 of them offered in high definition. Most of the titles are offered at no additional charge. However, like most VOD libraries, premium movies and events require a rental fee.
Comcast recently added 16 HD channels in Chicago, bringing its total number of HD offerings in the area to over 80 channels. Analog-to-digital conversions have given Comcast more bandwidth to increase the amount of HD programming.
