Vizio’s push beyond just televisions has continued at CES 2013 with a new sound bar system that has a couple of things going for it worth mentioning. The S4251W (list price $330) combines a sound bar with wireless rear speakers, which is great for those who want the home theater experience, but maybe not 22 feet of speaker wire threatening to trap small children. The system also comes with a slick remote control that features an LCD display. Checking the rest of the specs, Vizio says the system pumps out 102 dB of clear sound with less than 1% total harmonic distortion. Bluetooth is built-in, and hookups include an optical, coaxial, analog, and minijack input. The sound bar itself contains four 3-inch left/right midrange drivers, two 0.75-inch right/left tweeters, two 2.5-inch center channel drivers drivers, and each rear channel has a 2.5-inch driver. The subwoofer is wireless with a 6.5-inch driver. Expect a spring arrival.
