What a week it's been for Hitchcockians! First we had yesterday's big announcement from Universal on that 15-film boxed set, and today Warner Home Video has announced Dial M for Murder will be released in Blu-ray 3D October 9. One of the first movies to be released in 3D, this 1954 suspense classic stars the beautiful Grace Kelly, Ray Milland (slightly less beautiful), and Robert Cummings in the tale of a man who schemes to murder his wife. Not nice. Suggested list price is $35.99. Warner also announced that Alfred Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train will be coming to Blu-ray on the same date.

Criterion Collection releases a long awaited (and sometimes much maligned) Blu-ray disc today... Brian De Palma's "Blow Out." Also recommended this week: Alejandro Jodorowsky's brilliant, mesmerizing and incredibly loopy neo-Western, "El Topo".
There's certainly no shortage of good Blu-ray releases this week. Start with Seven Samurai (1954) from The Criterion Collection which includes a fifty-minute documentary...
