The X-Men Trilogy Vol. 1 has been previously been released to Blu-ray, in both 1080p and 2160p resolution, but this upcoming Limited Edition in the US is worthy of any SteelBook collector’s library. The cover artwork in a green/blue palette features a seated Professor X exercising his incredible telepathic powers. (Also see Vol. 2 which features his archenemy Magneto.)
The X-Men Trilogy Vol.1 includes X-Men (2000), X2: X-Men United (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), all of which star Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier aka Professor X.
Is this double, triple or quadruple dipping on Fox’s part? Yeah, because unfortunately there’s nothing really special about this edition except for the new packaging (no extensive bonuses like the 9-disc X-Men: Trilogy). But it does include 3 discs, a total run time of 341 minutes, and Digital Copies of the movies for real good price.
With a list price of $34.99, both Amazon and Best Buy are selling the X-Men Trilogy, Vol. 1 for $19.99. The limited edition releases Tuesday, April 30.
