If you weren’t able to get your hands on a copy of the 4k Blu-ray edition of Captain America: The First Avenger, the title expected to be in stock at Amazon on Tuesday, April 2nd. Amazon is selling the 2-disc combo edition for $29.96 and also has copies of the Limited SteelBook Edition via 3rd party sellers. But considering the markup, Best Buy is the best place to buy the SteelBook at $34.99.
Captain America: The First Avenger is the fifth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and dropped to Ultra HD Blu-ray on Feb. 26. The 4k release pre-dated the UHD BD editions of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and Captain America: Civil War (2016) releasing on April 23.
On 4k Blu-ray, Captain America: The First Avenger is presented in 2160p resolution at 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Like other Disney/Marvel titles, High Dynamic Range is provided to enhance the color depth using the HDR10 specification. And, audio is provided in Dolby Atmos, a significant upgrade to the DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 soundtrack on the last Blu-ray release from Disney/Buena Vista.
