We were getting a little scared that Alien (1979) on Ultra HD Blu-ray was going to get pushed back (at least in the States) as it wasn’t popping up on any the usual retailer’s websites. But, just like that Ridley Scott’s masterpiece is now available to pre-order — hitting stores on April 23, 2019.

Amazon has the 4k Blu-ray combo edition of Alien cheaper than anywhere else, selling for only $14.96 (List: $22.68). Best Buy is selling the same edition for $17.99. But, if you’re really a collector you’ll want to pay a few more bucks for the exclusive SteelBook edition currently priced $22.99 (see pics below).
The artwork on the highly-desired Steelbook edition features an alien egg on the front cover. And, there is custom artwork of the aliens on the back and inside spread of the SteelBook.
The combo editions of Alien both feature the 2003 Director’s Cut and Original Theatrical Version from 1979, as well as previously-released extras on the Blu-ray such as audio commentary, deleted scenes, and isolated musical scores.
