‘The Hate U Give’ Blu-ray & 4k Blu-ray Release Date & Details

The-Hate-U-Give-Blu-ray-720px20th Century Fox’s The Hate U Give has been dated for release on Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray. The film was just released early to digital, but will be available in disc formats and On Demand starting Jan. 22, 2019.

Each 2-disc Blu-ray edition includes a second disc (either DVD or Blu-ray) and digital copy, along with extras and extended scenes such as Maverick and Seven Protecting Their Home, Starting a Conversation, and Code Switching (see the full list of extras below).

Price

The Hate U Give is list-priced $34.99 (Blu-ray) and $39.99 (Ultra HD Blu-ray). The editions can be pre-ordered for $19.96 and $24.96, respectively. A 1-disc DVD edition is also available for $17.99.

Synopsis

Starr Carter is constantly switching between two worlds: the poor, mostly black, neighborhood where she lives and the rich, mostly white, prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer.  Now, facing pressures from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what’s right. The Hate U Give is based on the critically acclaimed New York Times bestseller by Angie Thomas.

Cast

The Hate U Give was directed by George Tillman Jr., with screenplay written by Audrey Wells based on the novel by Angie Thomas. The film stars Amandla Stenberg, K.J. Apa, Regina Hall, Anthony Mackie, Sabrina Carpenter, and Common.
