You may already know about upcoming blockbuster Blu-ray releases like A Star Is Born and First Man, but how about these titles?


Cliffhanger (1993)

Cliffhanger is an unforgettable movie from the early nineties in which heroic mountain climber Gabe Walker (Sylvester Stallone) gets involved in a plot to steal a U.S. Treasury plane flying over the Rocky Mountains. Directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2), the film also stars John Lithgow and Michael Rooker and was nominated for three Oscars including Best Sound. The 25-year old movie has been upgraded to Ultra HD Blu-ray. Release Date: January 15, 2019 (4k Blu-ray)


Notorious (1946)

Alfred Hitchcock’s twice-nominated classic Notorious has been remastered by Criterion Collection for release on Blu-ray. The film-noir feature stars Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman and was distributed to theaters by RKO Radio Pictures in August 1946. Release Date: January 15, 2019. (Blu-ray)

Waterworld Blu-ray Arrow Video

Waterworld (1995)

Waterworld, the film with a production budget that broke all records when it was released in 1995, will soon be available in a special 2-disc Limited Edition from Arrow Video with a new restoration of the movie from a 4K scan of the original negative. The edition presents the film in three cuts, and includes the original 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack along with a 2.0 stereo audio option. Release Date: Jan. 22, 2018 (Blu-ray)


Willow (1988) – 30th Anniversary

It’s hard to imagine Ron Howard’s fantasy adventure Willow premiered in cinemas thirty years ago, but it did. The movie, written by George Lucas with screenplay by Bob Dolman, stars Val Kilmer, Joanne Whalley, and Warwick Davis about a farmer who must protect a baby from an evil queen. The film has been released to Blu-ray before, but this multi-screen edition includes a digital copy for viewing on multiple devices. Release Date: Jan. 29, 2019 (Blu-ray)


Reign of the Supermen (2018)

This straight-to-video animated feature from DC Entertainment and director Sam Liu (Batman: The Killing Joke) takes place after the death of Superman when others try to take his place. Reign of the Supermen stars Cameron Monaghan, Rosario Dawson, Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell among the cast of voice actors. What’s more, an Only @ Best Buy edition includes “The Death of Superman” graphic novel along with the 4k Blu-ray edition. Release Date: Jan. 29, 2019 (Blu-ray & 4k Blu-ray)


Audition (1999)

Arrow Video is releasing a Special Edition of the Japanese horror film Audition based on the novel written by Ryû Murakami. Directed by Takashi Miike, the story is centered on a man who loses his wife and ends up meeting a new woman who has a dark past. Release Date: Feb. 12, 2019 (Blu-ray)


The Craft (1996)

Andrew Fleming directed this now cult-favorite fantasy/horror film about high school girls who practice witchcraft. The Craft stars Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Rachel True, and Neve Campbell, and will be available in a special Collector’s Edition from Shout! Factory on Blu-ray. Release Date: Mar. 5, 2019 (Blu-ray)


Perfect Blue (1997)

Satoshi Kon’s first movie Perfect Blue (パーフェクトブル) is a feature length Japanese psychological horror film based on the novel “Perfect Blue: Complete Metamorphosis” by Yoshikazu Takeuchi. The animated movie released to theaters in Japan in 1998 following a festival premiere in 1997, with limited showings in the US. In the story a former pop singer turned actress is stalked by a crazy fan. Release Date: March 26, 2019 (Blu-ray)


Overlord (2018)

This new film from Bad Robot and Paramount Pictures is still playing in theaters, but is already prepped for release on Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray. Overlord takes place on the eve of D-Day in 1944 when several American paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a critical mission. The movie was directed by Julius Avery and stars Jovan Adepo, Wyatt Russell, and Mathilde Ollivier. Release Date: Unknown (Blu-ray & 4k Blu-ray)
