Here’s what’s new on Blu-ray Disc today in movies, TV series, and anime!
Lionsgate’s comedy Overboard is now available for the first time on disc in a combo edition that includes Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy. The comedy/drama Tully starring Charlize Theron has also been released from Lionsgate to a Blu-ray combo with DVD and Digital Copy. And, a third release from Lionsgate this week on disc is the thriller Dark Crimes starring Jim Carrey, in a two-disc combo edition with Digital Copy.
There are also some titles you might consider “oldies” this week that are now on Blu-ray. Of course, what an “oldie” is may depend on what age you are. But if you’re over forty you might remember the late seventies film Piranha? Well, the sequel to the film titled Piranha II: The Spawning is now on Blu-ray — and watch out because the devilish creatures fly!
The sixties horror film Village Of The Damned can now be purchased on Blu-ray , as well as the crime/thriller Pendulum (1969) starring George Peppard and Jean Seberg. There are also a couple films starring James Belushi. Mr. Destiny (co-starring Michael Caine and Linda Hamilton) and Taking Care of Business (with Charles Grodin) are two comedies that funny enough were released to theaters the same year, 1990.
From television, Season 4 of the Disney animated series Star Wars: Rebels hits stores on Blu-ray, along with Season 11 of Canadian drama Murdoch Mysteries and Season 1 of the Starz! sci-fi/drama Counterpart starring J.K. Simmons.
