This week there are several Oscar-nominated films hitting Blu-ray and digital that we want to highlight, as well as some choice pics for your collection. Let’s start off with 13-time Oscar-nominee The Shape of Water releasing to digital only. If you want the disc editions (Blu-ray or 4k Blu-ray) you have to wait until Mar. 13. Ferdinand, Lady and the Tramp (1955), and Call Me By Your Name are also available in digital formats on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
On Blu-ray, Oscar-nominated films Darkest Hour and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri are among our top pics for the week hitting stores on disc. Darkest Hour releases to Blu-ray only in a combo edition from Universal Pictures with DVD and Digital Copy. Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri offers both a Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray edition with an extra disc and digital copy. And, Murder On The Orient Express is another new movie that’s available in both Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray Disc combos.
On Ultra HD this week in addition to the titles mentioned above, Oscar-winner Zero Dark Thirty (2012) is no longer a Best Buy exclusive, Oscar-nominated Straight Outta Compton gets its first 4k disc release, and the two original Lara Croft: Tomb Raider films have been remastered to 4k.
