There are plenty of 4k Blu-ray discs to look forward to in March, and quite of few will be available in exclusive editions from retailers like Best Buy and Target. Here’s a look at all the upcoming Ultra HD Blu-ray discs that we know about. If you’ve got a beat on another 4k release please let us know in the comments.
The first new 4k Blu-ray titles fall on Mar. 6 when BBC’s Blue Planet II, Marvel Studio’s Thor: Ragnarok, and Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal gets remastered to Ultra HD. All three of these titles will also drop as exclusive SteelBook editions from Best Buy (the cover art for Blue Planet II is certainly worth an eyeball), and, and exclusive edition of Thor: Ragnarok will be available from Target.
On Mar. 13, DC Entertainment’s Justice League will be available in several 4k disc variations including a standard Ultra HD Blu-ray edition, Best Buy SteelBook, Only@ Target edition, and Walmart exclusive. And, 13-time Oscar-nominated film The Shape of Water will hit stores on Ultra HD Blu-ray along with Blu-ray and DVD.
On Mar. 20, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Pitch Perfect 3 (as well as Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2) will both release to Ultra HD Blu-ray standard editions as well as Best Buy SteelBook versions. Also, Downsizing starring Matt Damon will be available on Ultra HD Blu-ray (no exclusives announced).
And, so far there’s no competition for Star Wars: The Last Jedi releasing on March 27 — the first time a Star Wars film has been available in 4k Ultra HD and the only 4k disc title announced for that day so far. The film will be available in exclusive editions from Best Buy and Target. Curiously, Walmart does not have their own exclusive listed.
