Disney has just officially announced the release dates for Star Wars: The Last Jedi to home media formats via a new “in-home” trailer (see below). The movie will first be sold in digital formats on Mar. 13, followed by Blu-ray and DVD on Mar. 27, 2018.

What isn’t so clear is whether or not the film will be available on Mar. 13 in Digital 4k. The graphics in the trailer seem to indicate 4k Ultra HD will be available upon disc release (Mar. 27), so maybe fans will have to wait for the Digital 4k UHD version? [Update: ‘The Last Jedi’ is available in Digital 4k (UHD) from FandangoNow, Microsoft Video, and Vudu.]

We mentioned before that Vudu offers a pre-order of ‘The Last Jedi” in Digital UHD for $24.99, but so far they are the only video service that does.[Update: FandangoNow and Vudu also sell the title in 4k.] Watch the trailer and see if you can figure it out!

Extra content with the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi will include the feature-length documentary “The Director and the Jedi” as well as over two hours of bonus footage with 14 deleted scenes.

What has not been revealed yet are the video and audio specs, but we’ll get you those as soon as we have confirmation from Disney. [Update: Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be the first Disney UHD BD title with both Dolby Vision (HDR) and Dolby Atmos audio. The Blu-ray edition will offer 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.]

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is still in theaters worldwide, earning over $618M at the domestic box office and over $1.3B internationally.
