November may not be the biggest month for new 4k Blu-ray releases, with half as many titles as October. But that doesn’t mean the month will pass by without some gems though, including a 4-time Oscar-nominated drama written by Aaron Sorkin. And who knows, there may be a few more Ultra HD Blu-ray titles that sneak in before December.
The first week in November will bring the biggest batch of new 4k Blu-rays to shelves, and just about every title is worthy of your collection. The first four Harry Potter films have been remastered for release on 4k, as well as an 8-film collection from Warner Home Video for those who don’t have a need for extra bonus materials and duplicate Blu-rays around the house. What we mean to say is, you could buy all eight Harry Potter films separately on 4k BD for about $225, or simply pick up the 8-film collection for about $150 (see current Amazon pricing below).
Also in week one, HBO’s science fiction series Westworld will be released to 4k Blu-ray, the animated film Cars 3 from Disney, and Best Buy will release an exclusive 4k edition of A Few Good Men (1992), the film hinted at above from writer Aaron Sorkin and director Rob Reiner that has been remastered to 4k UHD in celebration of the 25th anniversary of its theatrical release.
The summer action film Atomic Blonde from director David Leitch starring Charlize Theron will be released to Blu-ray and 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray on Nov. 14. The following week on Nov. 21 The Hitman’s Bodyguard and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets will hit stores on 4k Blu-ray. Finally, on Nov. 28 Logan Lucky from Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh will be available on 4k Blu-ray coinciding with the home media release of the film.
