This month there are over a dozen new Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc titles hitting stores including movies from Universal, Lionsgate, 20th Century Fox, Warner Bros. and Sony.
Among the upcoming movies on 4k Blu-ray are blockbusters such as The Despicable Me trilogy as single-movie releases (June 6), The LEGO Batman Movie (June 13), and Power Rangers (June 27).
All five Bourne films will be available in Bourne: The Ultimate Collection (June 6) and both Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Rise of the Planet of the Apes get released to 4k Blu-ray on June 13.
Ex Machina (June 6), John Wick Chapter 2 (June 13), and Life (June 20) are among the other new 4k Blu-ray releases.
Ultra HD Blu-ray discs are formatted at 2160p video resolution usually with high quality immersive audio formats Dolby Atmos or DTS-X. Most Ultra HD Blu-ray releases also include HDR (High Dynamic Range) specifications for improved color range, indicated on the packaging by either an HDR or Premium Ultra HD sticker.
