Warner Bros.’ Kong: Skull Island is currently playing in theaters, but is already available to pre-order on Blu-ray, 4k Blu-ray, and Digital HD. The film, directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, has made over $560M worldwide on an estimated $185M budget.
Kong: Skull Island will be available in several combo editions from WBHE. The standard 2-disc Blu-ray contains a Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD copy. The 3D Blu-ray edition includes a 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and Digital HD copy. And, the Ultra HD Blu-ray features 4k Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and Digital HD copy.
Video on the Blu-rays is presented in 16:9 (2.4:1 aspect ratio). On Ultra HD Blu-ray, Kong: Skull Island is presented in 2160p with High Dynamic Range (HDR) color.
Audio is provided on all Blu-ray editions in Dolby Atmos with a backup DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack for audio systems that don’t support Atmos.
Special features include the two-part “Creating a King” extra, a companion archive, deleted scenes, director’s commentary, and several featurettes.
Kong: Skull Island will release to disc formats on July 18, 2017. The movie is priced $35.99 (Blu-ray), $44.95 (4k Blu-ray), and $19.99 (Digital HD). The 3D edition is not yet available to pre-order.
