The Girl on the Train, Keeping Up With The Joneses, and Something Wild (1961) are among new Blu-ray releases this week. In addition, Battleship and Resident Evil: Afterlife have been re-issued in 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray. Here are our top picks for the week followed by an extended list of new titles.
Universal Pictures’ The Girl on the Train (2016) was previously released to Digital HD, but this week you can get the film on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray. Video resolution on the standard Blu-ray edition is 1080p, while the 4k UHD BD copy of the film is presented in 2160p with HDR10 (HDR10). Audio is formatted in DTS:X Master Audio soundtrack. Both Blu-ray editions also include deleted and extended scenes, a couple featurettes, and feature commentary with director Tate Taylor. Price: $19.99 (Blu-ray) $24.99 (4k Blu-ray)
Keeping Up With The Joneses (2016) starring Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifianakis, Isla Fisher, and Jon Hamm is now available on Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray Disc. The Ultra HD release features 2160p video enhanced with HDR (HDR10), and both editions offer a DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 soundtrack. Extras include deleted scenes, a couple featurettes, still gallery, and a Digital HD copy redeemable with iTunes, Google Play, and UltraViolet. Price: $19.99 (Blu-ray) $24.99 (4k Blu-ray)
Director Jack Garfein’s Something Wild (1961) has been digitally remastered and enhanced for release on high-definition Blu-ray. The film, which stars Carroll Baker and Ralph Meeker, has been called “a lost indie classic” and Criterion Collection is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its theatrical debut with this Blu-ray release. The film is presented in 1080p at 1.67:1 widescreen aspect ratio with a LPCM Mono soundtrack. Price: $27.99
