Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the release dates for Oliver Stone’s political drama Snowden starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley. The film will first be available in Digital HD on Tuesday, December 20th, followed by Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand on Tuesday, December 27th.
Snowden on Blu-ray Disc will come in a 2-disc combo with DVD and Digital HD copies. The Blu-ray edition, along with the DVD, will also include bonus content such as deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes featurette, and an interview with Edward Snowden himself.
The Blu-ray Disc (BD-50) is formatted in 1080p at 2.40:1 widescreen aspect ratio. The soundtrack is available in five-channel English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1.
The screenplay for Snowden was written by both Oliver Stone and Kieran Fitzgerald. The movie also stars Zachary Quinto (Star Trek), Tom Wilkinson (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Melissa Leo (The Big Short) and Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad).
