Amazon is now streaming Season 2 of their original series Bosch in High Dynamic Range (HDR) enabled by Dolby Vision. The enhanced imaging is only available on select Dolby Vision-enabled Smart TVs, however, including LG OLED and LG Super UHD TVs.
Dolby Vision combines high dynamic range and wide color gamut to produce brighter highlights, more light-to-dark contrast, and deeper colors depth.
“The Dolby Vision ecosystem is garnering momentum, affirming that the best way to enjoy stunning content with expanded dynamic range and ultra-vivid colors is with Dolby Vision,” said Curt Behlmer, SVP, Content Solutions and Industry Relations, Dolby Laboratories.
Amazon first started streaming HDR-enabled content last summer with the release of the original series Mozart in the Jungle. Transparent, Red Oaks and the first season of Bosch are other series that stream in 4k with HDR. The second season of the Amazon’s Original Series released March 11th.
Other titles with Dolby Vision (not currently in the Prime Video library but available to purchase) include The Smurfs 2, After Earth, Men in Black 3, Hancock, Salt, Pineapple Express, Fury, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Chappie and Elysium.
