Walt Disney Animation Studios has officially announced a sequel to the Oscar-nominated Wreck-It Ralph (2012), slated to hit theaters in the U.S. on March 9th, 2018. The film will once again star John C. Reilly as the voice of Ralph, the arcade character tired of always being the bad guy. Sarah Silverman will also return to star as Vanellope von Schweetz, the 9-year old girl from the game Sugar Rush.

Director Rich Moore and screenwriter Phil Johnston will also team up again for the film. The two announced the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph via Facebook Live on the website’s Disney page. Moore and Johnston recently partnered on the Disney hit Zootopia.

According to sources, the Walt Disney Animation Studios film Gigantic was originally set for the March 9, 2018 date, but has been pushed forward to November 21, 2018 to accommodate the Wreck-It Ralph sequel. Gigantic is based on the story “Jack and the Beanstalk.”
