This week is big for Tolkien fans, with The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Extended Edition arriving on Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D, along with the 15-disc The Hobbit Trilogy (Extended Edition): 3 Movie Collection containing all three extended versions of the films plus extras. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is now available on Blu-ray Disc, loaded with bonus material as well as DVD and Digital HD copies of the film. Criterion Collection has released The Apu Trilogy and In Cold Blood (1967) to high-definition Blu-ray. And, if you’ve got a big screen TV at home you’ll want to pick up the action documentary Meru about three extreme climbers in the Himalayas. Check out our Blu-ray picks for the week below.
