Dish has added several new features to the DISH Anywhere app for mobile devices. For one, the app now lets users set up individual profiles, allowing personalized recommendations based viewing history. This means anyone in the household can have their own profile and avatar (much like Netflix profiles), for easy access to recommended programs, Watchlist, and Favorites.
When setting up Profiles, users can also choose administrator accounts to manage content, for example, when setting up parental controls.
Another new addition to the DISH Anywhere app is the ability to pay bills from within the app, something that just needs to be set up in the app settings.
And, a new feature lets users resume watching automatically if a phone call interrupts.
The app is available for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, as well as Kindle Fire tablets. DISH Anywhere for Apple devices requires iOS 8.0 or higher, while the system requirement for Android devices varies with the device.
