“I’m just trying to make my city a better place,” are the last words you hear from Marvel superhero Daredevil in the newly-released teaser trailer from Netflix. The series launches on the streaming video platform April 10th, and stars Charlie Cox as the blind hero who Marvel Comics introduced in Daredevil #1 published in April, 1964.
In the series, Matt Murdock is a lawyer by day, but at night fights crime in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen. Netflix describes the new series as “Exciting,” “Dark,” and “Gritty,” with thirteen 60-minute episodes slated for the first season. Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood), Vincent D’Onofrio (Law & Order: Criminal Intent), and Rosario Dawson (Sin City) also star in the series.
ABC Television Studio, Marvel Entertainment, and The Walt Disney Company are named as production companies for Daredevil, with Netflix as distributor. Netflix recently launched its $90 million original series Marco Polo in December that was co-produced by Weinstein Co.
