‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’ Exclusive Limited Editions Revealed

We’ve never seen so many exclusives and variations from one movie as there will be with Transformers: Age Of Extinction when the film releases to disc formats on September 30. Walmart alone has 3 variations, and Amazon, Best Buy, Target and ToysRUs have their own special editions as well. The movie will, of course, be released to more common editions including Blu-ray 3D Combo, Blu-ray Combo, and standard DVD. The Blu-ray Combos include a Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD copy. But you can get those copies anytime, anywhere, so why not take a look at some of the exclusive editions of Transformers: Age Of Extinction.

Amazon Exclusive Blu-ray Collector’s Giftset and Collectible Statue

Amazon’s exclusive Transformers: Age Of Extinction release comes in a Limited Edition Collector’s Giftset box with Optimus Prime and Grimlock statue. The detailed statue stands 7.25-inches tall (including display base) and approximately 9-inches long and is only available at Amazon. The exclusive includes the 2-Disc Combo Pack with Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD copy. List-priced at $119.99, the edition is available to pre-order for $79.99.

Best Buy Exclusive Blu-ray Steelbook and Fathead Decals

Best Buy is packaging the Transformers: Age Of Extinction Blu-ray Combo Pack in their own exclusive, nicely illustrated collectible Steelbook case with Fathead decals in-pack. This is one of the better Steelbook cases we’ve seen. The 2-Disc Combo Pack comes with Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD copy. The edition is available to pre-order for $24.99 (List: $29.99).

Target Exclusive Blu-ray Combo Pack Optimus Prime Case

Target’s exclusive Transformers: Age Of Extinction edition houses the 3-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack within a collectible Optimus Prime statue that opens on the back to hold the discs. The box itself is designed with clear packaging that reveals Optimus Prime in a slightly compressed state. The 2-Disc Combo Pack includes Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD copy, and will sell for $22.99.

ToysRUs Exclusive Blu-ray and KRE-O pack

ToysRUs has an exclusive Transformers: Age Of Extinction edition that comes with two Transformers KRE-O on-pack Kreon figures; Optimus Prime and Galvatron. The Blu-ray edition is the 2-Disc Combo Pack with Blu-ray, DVD, Digital HD copy. Pricing not available yet.

Walmart Limited Edition Blu-ray Bumblebee Head Packaging

Walmart has three special limited editions of Transformers: Age Of Extinction planned, and this one with Bumblebee head carry case is sold exclusively at Walmart.com. The Blu-ray and DVDs are stored in the back of Bumblebee’s head, including Blu-ray and DVD copies. The special edition is available to pre-order for $44.92, and those who purchase get their choice of one Voyager Class Figure from six options.

Walmart Exclusive Blu-ray Combo Pack Gift Set

Walmart’s second Transformers: Age Of Extinction limited edition comes with three “Transformers” PVC figurines created exclusively for this set, including Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Stinger. The figures measure approximately 2.75″ – 3″ tall and can’t be purchased anywhere else. Along with the 2-Disc Blu-ray Combo, the gift set also comes with a custom “Transformers 4” metal magnet that’s not available elsewhere. Walmart is selling pre-orders of the limited edition gift set for $24.96 (List: $49.99).

Walmart Exclusive Blu-ray Quad Pack

Walmart’s third exclusive is a Blu-ray Quad Pack with four movies including Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) and Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014). The Quad Pack comes with Digital HD copies of each film, but does not include any bonus discs. The 4-movie pack is available to pre-order for $34.96 (List: $99.99), which is not a bad deal considering it includes 4 BDs.

Additional Retail Blu-ray Exclusive: Blu-ray Combo Pack with drawstring backpack

Paramount has revealed this additional Blu-ray exclusive, although we’re not sure yet where it will be sold. The Transformers: Age Of Extinction edition comes with the 2-Disc Combo Pack (Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD) and a drawstring backpack with Optimus Prime and Lockdown featured on the front and back. We’ll let you know if we see this being sold anywhere.
