300: Rise of an Empire may be still lingering in a few theaters nationwide when it releases to Digital, Blu-ray Disc and DVD next month. A digital purchase of the film will be available first on Tuesday, June 3 through digital distributors such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple iTunes, Cinema Now, Google Play, and Vudu. The Blu-ray Disc and DVD editions of the film will release three weeks later on June 24. Order on Amazon (Please note, while the title is expected in Digital HD on June 3, Warner Bros. previously advertised a June 10 release date.)
If you wait for the Blu-ray Disc edition you’ll get an MPEG-4 coded 1080p HD version of the film with an English DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 soundtrack (French, Spanish, Portuguese in Dolby Digital 5.1). With the Blu-ray Combo you also get a DVD and Digital HD copy via UltraViolet.
Some digital purchases are linked to an UltraViolet license, so you can build upon your existing library of digital movies. UV-supporting online digital services include Target, Walmart’s Vudu, and Best Buy’s Cinema Now.
300: Rise of an Empire stars Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, and Lena Headey in the follow up to the graphic novel inspired film 300. Based on the the unfinished graphic novel Xerxes by Frank Miller, ‘Rise of an Empire’ was written by Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad. The film was produced by Warner Bros. with Legendary Pictures and directed by Noam Murro (Smart People).
