Warner Bros. has released a new trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug slated to hit theaters on December 13, 2013. In the ‘The Desolation of Smaug,’ Bilbo (Martin Freeman) has gained possession of the One Ring, and along with Gandalf and the 13 dwarfs journeys to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor. The new two-and-a-half minute trailer gives us a few more hints about about the storyline, as well as some action sequences not seen in the first trailer.
‘The Desolation of Smaug’ also stars Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, Orlando Bloom as Legolas, Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel, and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield.
The film is part-two of the planned trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, adapted from the book by J.R.R. Tolkien. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will release to RealD 3D, HFR 3D, IMAX 3D, and 2D theaters worldwide.
