The June numbers are in on which Internet Service Providers (ISPs) provided the best Netflix streaming experience, and Google Fiber remains far and away the leader. Of course the fiber-optic service is only available in a handful of markets; no wonder some cities have gone to desperate measures to get it. Google Fiber customers saw an average speed of 3.50 Mbps. No one else was even close.
In terms of large ISPs, Cablevision’s Optimum (2.48 Mbps) rated the fastest for the sixth consecutive month, followed closely by Cox (2.39). Further down in the rankings, Time Warner Cable (2.05) moved up to the eighth spot, overtaking Mediacom and AT&T U-verse.
Looking outside the U.S., Netflix says all ISPs in the UK delivered improvements in speed in June compared to May, continuing an upward speed trend. There was no change in rankings, however, with Virgin holding on to its top position. Speeds increased for all providers in Mexico as well. Click here to see how other countries fared.
