Can’t get enough sports? The NBC Sports Live Extra app is now available to stream content from NBC, NBC Sports Network & Golf Channel on mobile devices. The service first launched last night with the Penguins vs. Lightning NHL game. Comcast Xfinity, Cablevision, Verizon FiOS, & Suddenlink customers are the first to get NBC Sports Live Extra, which boasts access to more than 4,000 hours and 1,000 events throughout the year.

NBC Sports Group programming includes the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, NFL, NHL, PGA TOUR, U.S. Open Golf, Notre Dame Football, French Open, Premier League, MLS, Formula One, IndyCar, Horse Racing’s Triple Crown among other sporting events.
NBC says the TV Everywhere service is expected to become available through additional TV providers soon.

NEW YORK – April 11, 2013 – NBC Sports Live Extra, the NBC Sports Group’s live streaming product for digital, mobile and tablets, will begin live streaming NBC Sports Network live-event content to Cablevision, Comcast Xfinity TV, Suddenlink and Verizon FiOS customers via TV Everywhere beginning tonight. Additional cable, satellite and telco providers are expected to be added soon.
The 2013 NBC Sports Network live-event programming roster includes the remainder of the NHL regular season, the Stanley Cup Playoffs and Final; Premier League and Major League Soccer matche; Formula One™ and IndyCar races; horse racing that surrounds the Triple Crown; and more.

The first NBC Sports Network event to be live streamed will be tonight’s NHL matchup featuring the Tampa Bay Lightning hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins (7:30 p.m. ET). This weekend’s slate of NBC Sports Network events to be streamed live on NBC Sports Live Extra via TV Everywhere includes:
- Formula One’s Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday (2:30 a.m. ET), plus practice and qualifying on Friday (2 a.m. ET) and Saturday (2 a.m. ET), respectively;
- Road to the Kentucky Derby horse racing featuring the Arkansas Derby on Saturday (6-7 p.m. ET);
- MLS matches featuring Los Angeles at Dallas on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET) and San Jose at Portland on Sunday (10:30 p.m. ET);
- NHL Sunday night action featuring the Nashville Predators hosting the Detroit Red Wings (7:30 p.m. ET).
This new initiative adds to NBC Sports Group’s heritage of live streaming premier events. NBC Sports Digital has been streaming select live events that air on NBC for years, including Sunday Night Football – television’s No. 1 primetime show – Notre Dame Football, the NHL Game of the Week, and select Stanley Cup Playoff games. Golf Channel has been live streaming PGA TOUR events since January 2013 via TV Everywhere on Golf Live Extra.
Combined NBC, NBC Sports Network and Golf Channel content is expected to exceed 4,000 hours and 1,000 programs/events in 2013. The vast majority of live streaming content on NBC Sports Live Extra will only be available to authenticated cable, satellite and telco customers via TV Everywhere.
