Look out Netflix. Xbox 360 owners will soon be able to stream video from Redbox Instant by Verizon. Existing Redbox customers will be getting an email within the “coming days” with a unique code to download the app. What day exactly? We’re not sure but if you’re not already a Redbox customer you can sign up for the beta testing at RedboxInstant.com. Xbox 360 is the exclusive gaming partner with Verizon on this one, so PS3 and Wii owners are out of luck for now. Redbox Instant is priced competitively with Netflix’s streaming at $8, but with the added bonus of 4 DVD rental credits (or $9 per month for Blu-ray). The Redbox Instant app will also let Xbox owners rent or purchase digital movies and TV shows without a subscription.
