If you’re planning on seeing The Hobbit when it hits theaters on Dec. 14, you might consider going to an IMAX 3D theater where Paramount will be showing the first nine minutes of Star Trek Into Darkness. Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Trek Into DarknessĀ is the second in the franchise’s reboot that hits theaters on May 17, 2012. (It will be four years since Star Trek released in May 2009.) Abrams (and Paramount) have been particularly quiet about the content of ‘Into Darkness’ — even teasing Trek fans on TBS’s ConanĀ last month with just 3 frames of the film showing Spock inside a volcano (however protected by some futuristic suit). But we do know that Chris Pine (James T. Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock) and Zoe Saldana (Uhura) will be returning in Star Trek Into Darkness, along with Karl Urban (Bones), Simon Pegg (Scotty) and Anton Yelchin (Chekov). Check out the still below from Conan and you’ll know as much as we do about the story line.
