Disney has announced the release date for “Marvel’s The Avengers” on Blu-ray Disc, DVD and digital download will be September 25, 2012. The film will hit stores in several disc editions including a 4-disc Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy/Album Download that lists for $49.99 (currently $34.99 on Amazon). And, for the first time on iPhone, the “The Avengers Initiative: A Marvel Second Screen App” will gives users access to exclusive content bi-weekly through July and August. Content will include access to the S.H.I.E.L.D. database, links to character profiles, stories and scenes, interactive Marvel comic books and other extras. The Blu-ray Disc editions of “Marvel’s The Avengers” include deleted scenes, production documentaries, commentaries, gag reel, and the Soundgarden Music Video-“Live to Rise” among other extras.
