After both divisional playoff games ended with just 3 points deciding the winner, the New York Giants will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI on February 5, 2012. Both of today’s games showed tremendous defensive effort, and scores were close throughout every quarter. Vince Wilfork’s clutch defense for the Patriots, and Jacquian Williams’ strip of the ball on a punt return by Kyle Williams may have been the deciding factors in each game. In the end, the Patriots beat the Baltimore Ravens 23-20 and the Giants beat the San Francisco 49ers 20-17. The two teams will meet in Indianapolis for a rematch of the 2008 Super Bowl, in which the Giants claimed the title in a 17-14 win. Super Bowl XLVI will be the 42 annual championship, with Kelly Clarkson singing the National anthem and Madonna performing during the halftime show. NBC will broadcast Super Bowl XLVI, with Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth announcing.
