Netflix has announced the launch of a new original series called Lilyhammer which will be available to watch instantly on internet connected devices. Starring Steven Van Zandt (The Sopranos), the series is set in Norway where x-gangster Frank “The Fixer” Tagliano has been relocated as part of the witness protection program.
Lilyhammer will premiere on February 6, 2012 in the USA, Canada & Latin America. Breaking traditional episode scheduling, all eight of the first season episodes will be available to watch immediately.
“If you love the first episode, there is no need to wait until next week, or to set a DVR, to catch the next one,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.
