New Xbox 360 apps expand global reach

Today Microsoft announced a bunch of new entertainment related apps for the Xbox 360. The apps come a week after the release of the new Xbox Live update which brought enhanced Kinect controls, cloud storage, and streaming TV content. Among the new apps available for download are iHeartRadio, MSNBC.com, TMZ, and access to 26 live channels from Verizon FiOS TV.

NOOK Color update supports Netflix

Barnes & Noble's newest update for the NOOK Color includes support for Netflix, as well as viewing comics and graphic novels, reading new PagePerfect NOOK Books, and flipping the NOOK to read in both portrait and landscape modes.

Hulu launches Spanish language enhancements, adds programming

Whether you're a native speaker or want to learn some español, Hulu has made it easier by launching a new library of current and classic content in the Spanish language dubbed "Hulu Latino." The new library is available to Hulu Plus subscribers and in addition to previous titles offers the entire current season of primetime TV shows from Univision, Galavision and Telefutura.

2011 ‘VGA’ Video Game Awards winners

Sony Computer Entertainment and Naughty Dog officially released a trailer for the upcoming game "The Last of Us" at the Spike VGA awards. Sony boasts the trailer was captured entirely on a PlayStation console. "The Last of Us" is about two survivors, Joel and Ellie, trying to survive in a nation devastated by a modern plague.

Sony knocks $200 off 46″ BRAVIA HDTV

Sony knocked $200 off the 46" BRAVIA BX420 HDTV today, offering the full HD 60Hz set for $699 until Dec. 17. The BX420 Series HDTV boasts five HD inputs (2 HDMI inputs, 2 component inputs and a PC input), integrated USB, Scene Select, and LightSensor Technology.

DIRECTV now offering TiVo HD DVR

It's been a few years in the making but DIRECTV is now offering TiVo HD DVRs to customers in 10 large markets (see full list below). The TiVo DVR will cost an extra $5 per month for a TiVo service (on top of a $7 DVR fee, and $10 HD upcharge).
