Monday night football will again open this year with a doubleheader of football action. At Sun Life Stadium we'll see the Miami Dolphins take on New England Patriots at 7:00 PM Eastern Time. And, at 10:15 PM Eastern you can catch the Oakland Raiders face the Denver Broncos at Sports Authority Field at Mile High Stadium. Both games will be broadcast on sports network ESPN.

Can anyone think about this Tuesday's Blu-ray Disc releases with the most anticipated BD release, Star Wars, hitting shelves on Friday? Star Wars or not, there are some great new titles on BD this week. Thor is one title you might want to check out, either in 2D or 3D. Whether or not you liked the film it's always worth seeing what a $150 million production looks like on a consumer level HDTV.

Sony has got a terrific deal on a 32" refurbished HDTV. The 32L5000 carries an MSRP of $499 and normally sells for $329. This deal takes $130 off that price, bringing it down to $199. The offer is only valid through Sept. 13 or while supplies last. And, there is a limit of two per customer.

Netflix's "back to school" special this month is a 60% rate increase for their online streaming and DVD-by-mail rental services. Customers are literally outraged, and the web has been saturated with negative comments. In reality, the company is splitting both services, effectively leaving current subscribers to decide whether or not to continue with both services, choose one, or cancel entirely. Both options, at a base level, cost $7.99 per month.

JVC is not letting Sony get all the props for revealing a 4k home theater projector this week. From the UK, the company has provided details on three 4k (also referred to as quad HD) home theater projectors with 3D support.

Sony has announced a new 4k home theater projector that will list for under $25k. The projector which boasts 4-times the resolution of HD will be available to professional installers this December. Under Sony's ES (Elevated Standard) series, the VPL-VW1000ES features 2,000 ANSI-lumens, 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast, 4k upscaling, and the capability of displaying up to 200 inches diagonally without losing quality.

The 2011 IRB Rugby World Cup from New Zealand begins on Sept. 9 and runs through October 23, 2011. NBC and Universal Sports announced last year they secured distribution rights to all 48 matches of the World Cup. However, not all matches will be broadcast on television here in the U.S. and not all will be broadcast live.
