Kindle books now outselling paper books

Amazon has reached an interesting milestone as the company announced they now sell more digital Kindle Books than paper books. According to Amazon, since April 1st, 2011 there have been 105 Kindle books sold for every 100 print books, not including Kindle books offered as freebies.

“We had high hopes that this would happen eventually, but we never imagined it would happen this quickly,” said Jeff Bezos, Founder and CEO, Amazon.com.

Amazon started selling hardcover and paperback books in July 1995. In November 2007, they introduced Kindle.
