The Cape premieres on NBC

NBC’s 2-hour premiere ‘The Cape’ airs tonight Jan. 9 on NBC at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The mid-season television series of the comic-book genre tells the story of a police officer who is framed for a crime that he did not commit. Left for dead, the officer is rescued by a circus ringleader (who is also a bank robber) and with him develops special abilities to get back at the villain who framed him.

‘The Cape’ stars David Lyons as officer Vince Faraday (aka The Cape), Jennifer Ferrin as Lyons’ wife who believes he is dead, and Ryan Wynott as Lyons’ son who idolizes The Cape.

The Cape’ introduces a lineup of comic-book type villains including Chess (played by James Frain), Scales (Vinnie Jones), and Rollo (Martin Klebba). ‘Firefly’s’ Summer Glau also stars as blogger “Orwell” who helps The Cape in his quest.

If you miss tonight’s premiere, or forget to record it, ‘The Cape’ is scheduled to be rebroadcast 24 hours later, on Monday Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Starting next week, ‘The Cape’s’ normal schedule will be on Monday nights.

Other mid-season premieres tonight include:

  • ‘Episodes’ (Showtime) at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
  • ‘Bob’s Burgers’ (Fox) at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
  • ‘Shameless’ (Showtime) at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

  1. I am so excited for the Cape to come out on NBC, especially since it’s based off comics. I will not be home for it though and although at first I was a bit disappointed I decided that rather than tape it and be someone who’s “after the fact”, I’d bring it with me. I have a DISH Sling Adapter and an iPhone and that is all I need to be ready for the lunch time gab the next day. I happen to work for DISH Network, so I got the Sling Adapter and have never looked back. The technology is amazing and it’s especially great for long trips or travel. I WILL be watching the Cape and loving it where ever I am!
