Dish Network announced a special deal for customers by offering the Logitech Revue for $179 (MSRP $299). With integrated Google TV, Dish customers can check email and social sites like Facebook at the same time as watching television. Customers can also search seamlessly through Web, DVR, and Dish on demand content enabled by what Dish calls their “unique pairing protocol.”
Dish’s Google TV solution will cost you an extra $4 a month for DVR integration (along with the purchase of the Logitech Revue set-top box). You’ll also need a ViP 622, ViP 722 or ViP 722k Dish Network series HD DVR.
“Google TV makes the Web another channel on your TV,” says Google TV product manager Rishi Chandra.
“Only Dish Network customers will have access to the most fully-featured Google TV experience available,” says DISH Network Chief Marketing Officer Ira Bahr.
Hi my name is Jason I am a dish network employee, I have had lots of opportunity to play with the Logitech Revue, I personally think that is a great step forward in TV. At least now you can get your loved ones out from in front of the computer, and now they can Facebook on the TV during commercials.
