Apple will finally make its iPhone available for Verizon customers early next year, that according to an insider who got word of the confidential news. Verizon is the largest wireless carrier in the US, and the addition of the iPhone will give Apple a better edge against competing Android-based cell phones. Smart phones based on Microsoft Windows 7 software will also be entering the market, so Apple simply cannot continue its exclusive agreement with carrier AT&T if it wants to remain competitive.
