Verizon buddy-buddy with Comcast

Verizon added the Comcast Network to its FiOS TV lineup today, giving customers in the Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and certain New Jersey and Delaware areas access to Phillies, Flyers and 76ers games.

Comcast Network also broadcasts live college games including CAA and Ivy League basketball, as well as college lacrosse. Local access programming is also shown on the network.

The Comcast Network is available on FiOS channel 99. However, no mention was made of the channel’s availability in HD even though Verizon already carries Comcast SportsNet in both standard and high-def. (We’ll keep you posted on this.)

“Our goal has always been to provide our customers with the best in national and regional programming,” said Mary Yarborough, vice president of marketing for the Philadelphia region.
