Vizio delays premiere Blu-ray player

Vizio will be delaying the release of their first Blu-ray Disc player until August, that according to an inquiry made by Engadget. The Vizio VBR100 first made news at CES 2009, when the $199 player (suggested MSRP) was expected to start shipping last month.

The VBR100 packs a punch for the price. Features include BD-Live (Profile 2.0), Dolby TrueHD and DTS-Master Audio decoding, 7.1 analog audio outputs (those could come in handy), and coaxial digital audio outputs.

Rumors are the player will start shipping sometime in the summer. If retailers discount the $199, could this be the first decent Blu-ray player to hit the $149 mark? Stay tuned.
