HD Radio expands in auto brands

HD Radio developer iBiquity Digital announced today a total of 13 auto brands with digital radio technology already in models or with plans to include in future models. Land Rover is the latest OEM to make HD Radio available in their 2009 line, including the LR2, LR3, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.

The thirteen auto brands committed to HD Radio include: Audi, BMW, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercedes, Mercury, MINI, Scion and Volvo. BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar and Hyundai have extended their already existing committments.

Here is a breakdown:

* Audi (beginning in 2010 calendar year)
* BMW (available now in all models; Standard in 6 & 7 Series)
* Ford (beginning in 2010 calendar year)
* Hyundai (available now in the Genesis Sedan; launching additional vehicles in the 2010 calendar year)
* Jaguar (beginning in 2009 in XF and XK models)
* Kia (beginning in 2010 calendar year)
* Land Rover (beginning in 2009 calendar year, in all models)
* Lincoln (beginning in 2010 Calendar Year)
* Mercedes (available now in E, G, GL, M, and R Class & later in 2009 in CL, CLS, E Coupe, S, SL, and SLK Class models.)
* Mercury (beginning in 2010 calendar year)
* MINI USA (available now in all models)
* Volvo (available now in C30, S40, V50, XC60, V70, C70, XC70, S80, & XC90)
