Netflix delivered its 2 billionth movie – and it was a Blu-ray!
Netflix announced on Thursday it delivered its two billionth movie, delivering “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” on Blu-ray to one lucky recepient in Birmingham, Alabama. The subscriber received a complimtary lifetime membership to the rental company. Reuters

“Snow White” going hi-def
“Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” was announced for Blu-ray release on Oct. 6. And, what would seem is now becoming a tradition for kids titles the hi-def disc will include a copy of the standard DVD as well. HomeMediaMagazine

“Do The Right Thing” coming to Blu-ray
Spike Lee’s “Do The Right Thing: 20th Anniversary” will hit Blu-ray at the end of June. The release will feature new commentary from Director/Writer Spike Lee as well as deleted and extended secnes.

“Friday Night Lights” got renewed for 2 seasons

NBC renewed “Friday Night Lights” and the show is scheduled to run through the 2010-11 season. The NBC arrangement with DirecTV, in which the satellite TV provider picks up some of the production costs in exchange for premiering the season first on satellite, is expected to continue.

Comcast launched PBS HD On Demand
Comcast launched PBS On Demand in HD throughout their U.S. market areas this week. Shows like Antiques Roadshow, Nova, Masterpiece, History Detectives, and Frontline are now available On Demand the day after they air. Full Story
