‘Halo Wars’ now available on Xbox Live

Microsoft has just released the demo for its upcoming title, Halo Wars. The game, developed by the now disbanded Ensemble Studios, is Halo’s first venture into the real-time action strategy genre. This 1.4GB download will give players a quick glimpse of the legendary war between the Covenant and UNSC (sorry folks, the Flood are not playable) before the full game is released.

Halo Wars promises to explore the large scale battles and the story elements that were outside of Master Chief’s immediate field of vision in the original Halo trilogy. Players control large armies as they gather resources and beat the drums of war across familiar Halo landscapes. Halo Wars has been rated T by the ESRB and will be available for purchase only for the Xbox 360 on March 3rd.

You can pre-order the standard or collector’s edition Halo Wars from Amazon.
