No Amazon Hi-Def Sweepstakes?

Sony and Amazon announced a hi-def sweepstakes last week which was supposed to start on Dec. 8. Well, here we are on the 8th but there doesn’t seem to be any reference to a sweepstakes at the given URL. Technically it should have started at midnight last night shouldn’t it have? What could they be waiting for?

Here is a snippet taken from the original press release republished by Video Business:

“Sony and Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) today announced the Optimum High- Definition Experience Sweepstakes, which will take place in the Sony High-Def Store on Amazon.com beginning Dec. 8, 2008. To enter the sweepstakes or view the Amazon Sony Hi-Def Store, visit www.amazon.com/sonyhighdef.”

The prizes for the sweepstakes are supposed to include a Sony BDP-S550 Blu-ray player, Sony Blu-ray movie and music titles, and a Playstation 3 — not exactly a “high-stakes” sweepstakes but certainly worth entering. There are still 15 hours left in the day so we’ll keep you posted on any updates.
