DISH offers $50 to switch

Back in March of 2008, a promotional partnership was made between DISH and LIN TV that informed customers that if their local LIN TV stations were dropped from their cable television provider they could find the stations on DISH Network. They also marketed the fact that local stations are available over-the-air using an antenna.

“The possibility of losing important local channels is understandably leading many residents to look at their television service alternatives,” said Eric Sahl,  vice president of programming at DISH. He added, “Consumers in Green Bay, Hartford-New Haven and Providence can already enjoy their local HD channels with DISH Network, and Grand Rapids residents will see their local HD channels added to DISH Network later this month.”

LIN TV Corporation is a local television and digital media company which owns and/or operates 29 television stations in 17 U.S. markets. LIN TV’s stations deliver local news and community stories, along with sports and entertainment programming. The company reaches 9% of U.S. television homes, amounting to an average of 10 million households weekly.
