hdtvStudy predicts more than than 47 million American households will be subscribing to some type of high-definition TV service by the end of 2008.

The report, from Pike & Fischer, details an increase in 2008 of 17 million homes compared to the end of 2007. The firm also predicts that by the end of 2012, 103 million households will be paying for high definition service or rental equipment.
