Kansas City gets first HD newscast

kmbc-tvKMBC 9 out of Kansas City will launch an expanded newscast in high definition (HD) starting on March 3. “KMBC 9 FirstNews on KCWE” will cover local and national news, as well as weather and traffic. KMBC-TV will be the first Kansas City television station to broadcast news in high definition.

The channel will be available on KMBC’s sister channel KCWE 29, following the regular broadcast of “Good Morning America” on KMBC 9. The expanded newscast can be found on Comcast channel 236, Everest channel 615, and Time Warner channel 1431.
