‘Halo 3’ first week sales $300 million

According to Microsoft, “Halo 3” brought in almost 300 million in sales in the first week. The first-person sci-fi shooter game made its debut on the high definition Xbox 360 gaming console.

It was also reported that sales of Xbox 360 units tripled after the release of “Halo 3.”

“Halo 3” broke the last sales record set by “Spiderman 3” which brought in $151 million in its first weekend. “Halo 3” sold $170 million in the first 24 hours.

Some customers who bought the limited-edition of “Halo 3” complained that the discs were scratched. Although the surface scratches did not affect game play, Microsoft set up a replacement program on its Web site.
