This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen for the curved Samsung player, after finding Costco has the K8500 for $349 after a $30 manufacturer’s instant rebate.
Best Buy is also having a big open box sale right now with up to 50% off at select stores. We spotted two open box Samsung Ultra HD Blu-ray players at a local store for $341, which actually gets dropped to about $308 while the unopened units are on sale for $319.
Best Buy is offering the Samsung UBD-K8500 at select local stores and online for $319 for a limited time. If you are heading over to pick one up don’t forget to get an HDMI cable that’s designed for HDMI 2.0 and high transmission rates. We suggest at least 18Gbps with support for 4k/60p and 4k/3D.
The Samsung UBD-K8500 has been the only Ultra HD Blu-ray player available in the US until the recent release of the Philips BDP7501. However, Best Buy doesn’t offer the Philips model yet. Panasonic’s DMP-UB900 is expected to ship in September but with an MSRP of $699.
